Business Parks
Business parks – offering enterprise, manufacturing and retail space – and ZONED LANDS for development (provided by South Tipperary County Council) are located in key sites right across the region.

The largest of these initiatives is currently the , situated just outside Clonmel. This initiative is a partnership between South Tipperary County Council, Tipperary Institute, and the Industrial Development Authority. It’s designed to provide employment, research and innovation opportunities as well as state-of-the-art educational facilities to meet the needs of the population for the next 20 years. Comprising 110 hectares of land, the area will be sub-divided to create a business park to attract foreign investment and indigenous businesses. The central area will be used for the development of the Tipperary Institute’s 3rd-level campus. It also hoped that the site will attract other suitable developments that are in line with the project’s aims, such as hotels or other amenities, in the future.

Support for Businesses
South Tipperary has an excellent infrastructure to support business development and expansion. Our transport and communication networks are well-developed to serve the local business community: Metropolitian Area networks, capable of delivering high speed broadband, are located in Clonmel, Cashel, Carrick-on-Suir, Cahir and Tipperary town.

Local businesses have access to a number of excellent sources of support. Agencies such as Enteprise Ireland, the IDA, FA, Tipperary Institute, and other locally-based agencies provide a range of services to businesses and individuals. South Tipperary County Enterprise Board also provides advice, information and support for start-up and existing businesses.

Local Chambers of Commerce are good places for new businesses to start looking for assistance or contacts. Clonmel Chamber of Commerce serves the interests of local businesses, assisting the development and promotion of new and established businesses. The Clonmel Chamber is part of the South Tipperary Enterprise Forum, along with the Cashel Chamber of Trade & Tourism, Carrick-on-Suir Business and Community Centre, Tipperary IRD Chamber of Commerce, and Cahir Development Association. The forum operates the South Tipperary Entrepreneurial Awards to recognise local innovation in enterprise. Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary Town and Cashel have their own Chambers of Commerce.

South Tipperary Development Co. fosters the development of the rural economy and social inclusion. It provides grant aid and advice to potential start-up enterprises and expanding businesses in rural locations.
