Local festivals
Our annual festival programme features independent events celebrating all that’s wonderful and unique about South Tipperary.

• The Clonmel Junction Festival (July) is a week-long celebration of local culture, with performances of dance, theatre, street theatre, rock, and traditional music.
• The Cashel Arts Festival (November) is a month-long community festival. The idea is to encourage everyone in the community to engage with new and traditional art disciplines in a meaningful and enjoyable way.
• The Glen of Aherlow walking festival (end May) is an annual weekend event with a programme of guided walks through the Glen of Aherlow. Casual and serious walkers are all welcome.
• The Faugheen 50 (July) is an action-packed programme of motorbike road races in the village of Faugheen outside Carrick-on-Suir.
• The Tipperary Peace Convention (April) makes an annual award to an individual or group deemed to have made a significant contribution to peace. The programme for this week-long event features includes an International Song of Peace contest, a peace forum, and a special ecumenical service.
• The Clancy Festival in Carrick-on-Suir (June) is a festival celebrating the music of the Clancy Brothers, with theatre, traditional music and family fun.
• The Fethard Walled Town Medieval Festival (August) celebrates the town’s medieval history through parade, music and dance.

Discover our local artists
South east Ireland has an historic tradition of art and craft, with local artists busy creating pottery, glassware, woodturning, furniture, photography, fashion, soft furnishings, cards, jewellery, children's toys and local food products. To browse and buy, make a visit to the restored Craft Granary on Church Street in Cahir. The Centre stages occasional exhibitions by Irish artists as well as maintaining a stock of high-quality, handcrafted products. Entry is free, and the Centre is part of the Craft Council of Ireland – your guarantee that the products are unique, with a high standard of craftsmanship.
